Innovative new LTE IoT tracker based on Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 1200 platform planned to be available later this year.
YuanTel announced today, wearable devices based on the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ Wear 1200 platform featuring support for LTE IoT Category M1 (eMTC) and NB1 (NB-IoT) radio technologies, as well as associated services, at Mobile World Congress Shanghai.
These devices and services are planned to be available later this year. YuanTel is the second ranked mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in China among the 42 licensees, as measured by subscriber size, settlement volume, and service quality, has more than 8 million subscribers, and boasts a strong independent product portfolio and innovation capabilities, including M2M modules for the Internet of Things (IoT).
YuanTel will utilize its strong R&D and experience in communication services and leverage reference design from Borqs based on Snapdragon Wear 1200, to offer and accelerate commercialization of comprehensive solutions ranging from smart connected devices to E2E cloud platforms. The LTE IoT smart wearable products and reference designs based on the Snapdragon Wear platform will target smartwatches, kid and elderly watches, smart bracelets, fitness bands, pet trackers, bicycle sharing and more – all in support of low-power, “always connected” and untethered experiences.

At MWC Shanghai, Qualcomm Technologies announced the Snapdragon Wear 1200 platform, which takes advantage of the emerging LTE IoT technology in mobile networks to help usher in a new generation of ultra-low power, highly energy efficient, and always connected experiences enabled by targeted purpose wearable devices such as kid, pet, elderly, and fitness trackers. Snapdragon Wear 1200 complements the existing Snapdragon Wear 2100 and Snapdragon Wear 1100 platforms, extending the proven Snapdragon Wear product family across the smart wearables segments.
