Combined Water Utility Company Increases Preventive Maintenance Work Order Scheduling by 25 Percent, Proactively Reducing Vehicle Downtime
NexTraq, the value leader of GPS fleet tracking and vehicle management solutions, announced today that its client, Columbus Water Works, has increased driver productivity by 15 percent with the NexTraq™ Fleet Tracking platform.
Additionally, the combined water utility company was able to increase preventive maintenance work order scheduling by 25 percent, greatly reducing fleet maintenance expenses.
Joey Murphy, vice president of finance and customer service for Columbus Water Works, said:
“The NexTraq platform was very intuitive and provided all the ‘bells and whistles’ we are looking for in a solution. Additionally, we really liked the idling and routing functionality available.”
Columbus Water Works evaluated several GPS fleet tracking solutions before implementing the NexTraq Fleet Tracking platform on more than 130 fleet vehicles. Moreover, Murphy says the implementation and training process was seamless.
Jason Jay, asset manager for Columbus Water Works, added:
“Once the NexTraq Fleet Tracking platform was implemented, it took less than a day before we starting running reports. We have never had a problem with system availability; the NexTraq platform is just that stable and reliable.”
Both Murphy and Jay agree that risk management and safety issues were additional benefits. Columbus Water Works can now prove where its vehicles are at all times to reduce liability issues while also ensuring that drivers are following all traffic laws.
Mike Scarbrough, CEO of NexTraq said:
“One of the largest overhead expenses that companies with large fleets have is maintenance costs. With our maintenance reporting and automated alerts, we are able to help our fleets save substantial amounts of money on vehicle repair, ultimately affecting their bottom line.”
